About two years ago, my best friends and I traveled to The Union in Naperville, IL for a Vespers concert. A few weeks ago, The Vespers came back. *woot woot* My friend and I were able to make the trek to see them, and it was amazing. Since their new album just came out, they played a new set. If you haven’t ever heard of them, check them out now. They’re kind of the best. And Kally rapped. boom!
I would like to thank Louis Armstrong for his continuing inspiration and beautiful voice. I would like to thank ukuleles for the happiness they bring the world. Tea for keeping my soul warm on the coldest days. Fuzzy blankets for the constant support. Breakfast food for always being such a comfort. And this bloke for putting a smile on my face.

Good times at Alley Walk. Joey described it as “adding to the sound track of life.” One couple was interested in us playing for their daughter’s wedding. That felt great to hear. Even if nothing comes from it, just the thought of someone thinking we’re good enough to play at a wedding felt good and was encouraging.
I played an instrument for the first time in public. I’ll be honest. I totally messed up a song. But then I did better. And I’m sure I’ll continue to do better. I do love playing the ukulele!
Update on the whole what’s in a name thing. Joey and I decided on Jacquelyn. One day we knew we needed to have a name, so we just picked the one we had both been leaning towards without asking our families or friends what they thought. That way our name, our band, is our own. We’re having a concert on the 6th. I say concert, but really we’re just going to show up somewhere where there’s people and play our songs. It’ll be a grand old time.
